SUMMARY:GETTING AROUND SMART CITIES
DESCRIPTION:By 2030\, the world is projected to have 43 megacities with more than 10 million inhabitants. In general\, global populations are urbanizing\, but congestion and pollution have shown us that 20th Century solutions for moving people and goods around cities simply won’t work anymore. Historically\, as cities grew\, the solution to mobility was seen as more cars and more roads. But we know now that this strategy eventually hits a literal bottleneck as cities grow\, and countless hours are wasted in traffic. \n\n\n\nThe 21st Century city needs 21st Century mobility solutions\, and we now have the opportunity to invent them\, since the modern Smart City offers a wealth of data\, systems\, AI\, and connectivity which have never been available before. We are on the verge of a new era\, where innovators will take the capabilities of the Smart City\, and leverage them to improve mobility by: \n\n\n\nintegrating transport\, mobility\, and logistic systemsfacilitating multi-modal fast commutesreducing CO2 emissions and pollutantsempowering e-business and e-commerceintegrating with Software-Defined cellular networksmanaging the use resources: energy\, real estate\, and otherminimizing energy consumption and control pollution.\n\n\n\nJoin Autotech Council members for a morning of debate and discovery\, product demos\, startup pitches\, and great networking as we get a sense of the innovations and opportunities that will advance the world’s Smart Cities.

SUMMARY:TC3 IoT Forum on Smart Home
DESCRIPTION:IoT Forum members meet monthly in Silicon Valley to discover new companies and technologies\, meet partner prospects in person\, review market opportunities across the wide spectrum of connected things\, and deep dive into a specific segment with the help of buyers and experts. This December\, we are focused on innovation in Smart Home. \nSmart Homes used to be ALL about automation\, but increasingly\, this aspect is dropping in relative importance\, being supplanted by “connected”. Often products are sold as “useful as connected devices from the quick-start guide”\, and with operation through a hub or voice assistant. Then\, deeper automation is available via the devices own app\, think of a thermostat as an example. We’ll look at the shifting role of automation in Smart Homes – and the newer ways of programming that. Our meeting will examine how the industry is developing these beachheads to grow into the home.

SUMMARY:TC3 ComTech Forum on 5G
DESCRIPTION:5G is the hottest topic in telecom\, as it’s expected to really take-off in 2020. According to the GMSA in March this year\, 224 operators in 88 countries are actively investing in 5G. Devices are just starting to proliferate in 2019. A huge transaction just hit the news\, where Apple is buying the 5G device radio business from Intel. We expect to see a promising demonstration of 5G at the Tokyo Summer Olympics in 2020. Hundreds of Billions of dollars are about to be spent on next generation networks. \nSo the Telecom Council is building a meeting that brings together the stakeholders\, deal-makers\, & tech shakers which are flipping the “on” switch“ for 5G. Our agenda will clarify what 5G is\, cover the varied implementations\, review the technologies\, & discuss the business cases. Come join us & connect with the companies on the front lines of 5G. ComTech Forum meetings are short\, packed\, interactive discussions with highly-focused networking and plenty of demos. \nFEE: $200 – Register at https://telecomcouncil.cvent.com/19CP4
