SUMMARY:IIoT Sensors Gizmos & Gadgets – Oktoberfest at Home
DESCRIPTION:Event Video – IIoT Sensors Gizmos & Gadgets 2021\n\n \n \n \n \n\n\n\n\nToday\, there are over 25 billion ‘things’ connected to the Internet – with that figure estimated to triple by 2025. The industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has exploded in a way that few in business could have predicted. An Industrial IoT platform is a type of industrial IoT software that allows organizations to securely manage all the connected people\, systems\, and things within an IIoT ecosystem. \n\n\n\nManaging a few industrial IoT sensors would be quite straightforward but today a business can have hundreds of thousands of industrial IoT devices conducting numerous tasks throughout the organization. Industrial IoT devices come in all shapes and sizes. There are no common industrial IoT standards or connection methods. Managing an industrial IoT network means having the ability to monitor and control an array of heterogeneous range of industrial IoT devices. A central industrial IoT platform provides a solution to the rapid growth of industrial IoT in almost every industry sector. \n\n\n\nFollowing are a few must-have characteristics of an IIoT-enabled Industry: \n\n\n\nAccurate control over operational processesLow power consumptionExtremely secure implementationsFast and flexible: Near zero lag in response timeHighly reliable in extremely harsh conditions of pressure\, temperature and humiditySophisticated data analytics that leads to effective decision-making\n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communication Alliance invites you to listen in as a selected panel of experts explore how the development and deployment of a perfect IIoT Gadget should look like. \n\n\n\nAgenda: \n\n\n\n4:00 – 4:10: Event Introductions and Acknowledgements – Moderator Introduction4:10 – 5:10: Panel Discussion and Q&A Moderation5:10 – 5:30: Q&A Panel\, Raffle and Thank you note and closure \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker Bio:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Moderator – Prakash Sangam\n Tantra Analyst\n \n \n \n Prakash Sangam is the founder and the Principal at Tantra Analyst LLC. SUMMARY:“Connected Everything” Hardware Security Attacks - 2021
DESCRIPTION:A demonstration of “side-channel” attacks and a conversation about strategies to solve these problems. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe see major security breaches on everything connected every day – phones\, computers\, networks\, power grids\, and even the government. The techniques behind security breaches or attacks are generally made through the ports of a device and are well known and understood across the industry. \n\n\n\nHowever\, what’s not so well known\, is that unintended emissions or leakage such as electromagnetic radiation or fluctuations in a device’s power line can fuel a class of dangerous and worrisome security attacks\, potentially compromising the cryptographic material at the very heart of the device’s security. Initially\, these attacks were initially only targeted towards Smart Cards but recently now are being increasingly targeted towards complex System on Chip (SoC) devices. \n\n\n\nFrom a security perspective\, this leakage\, which was once thought of as relatively innocent\, actually emits key clues as to what is going on inside a device and will even show when an encryption algorithm is being processed. Coupled with AI and smart analysis of this leakage\, it’s now possible for bad actors to break into all devices and take full control. \n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communications Alliance invites you to witness a demonstration of how these “side-channel” attacks work in practice and show how device developers are testing and measuring security robustness to better protect and thwart against these attacks. \n\n\n\nWe will show sophisticated attacks using side-channel or physical fault injection techniques that are practical and may compromise a system – sometimes faster and easier than might have been expected. Highlighting the attacks based on modern techniques targeting recent devices and SoCs\, this talk will introduce the concept of side-channel or physical fault injection and provide practical insights about their realization\, potential consequences\, and cost trade-offs. \n\n\n\nAgenda: \n\n\n\n●     1:00 – 1:05:  Event Introductions and Acknowledgements – Moderator Introduction●     1:05 – 1:55:  Demo\, Presentation and Q&A Moderation●     1:55 – 2:00:  Q&A Panel and Thank you note and closure \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker Bio:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Tom Willey (Moderator)\n Managing Partner TW-Partners\n \n \n \n \n \n Tom has 25 years of leadership experience as a successful Board Director\, Advisor\, and CEO. in U.S. large & mid-cap companies and new start-ups from the USA\, Asia\, Japan\, and Europe.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Hugues Thiebeauld\n CEO – eShard\n\n \n \n \n Hugues has a long track record in security subjects\, such as side-channel attacks\, fault injection and risk evaluation methodology. SUMMARY:Broadband in Underserved Rural Areas - 2021
DESCRIPTION:A conversation on solving the connectivity problem for millions of people in the US (live on ZOOM and Linkedin) \n\n\n\n\n\nThe COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the critical nature of access to fast and affordable internet service. As a result\, demand for high-speed internet access\, defined as “broadband\,” has soared to new heights. \n\n\n\nOne measurement found that the pandemic drove almost a year’s worth of broadband traffic growth in only a few weeks. \n\n\n\nAs carriers upgrade the network\, people in rural areas and other broadband dead zones will gain access to the internet than their urban neighbors have long taken for granted. \n\n\n\nUnfortunately\, 22.3 percent of Americans in rural areas and 27.7 percent of Americans in Tribal lands lack coverage from fixed terrestrial 25/3 Mbps broadband than only 1.5 percent of Americans in urban areas\, according to a recent report by the Federal Communications Commission. \n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communication Alliance invites you to listen in as a selected panel of experts explores how broadband deployment will transform people’s lives in those areas. \n\n\n\nAgenda:●     1:00 – 1:10:  Event Introductions and Acknowledgements – Moderator Introduction●     1:10 – 2:15:  Panel Discussion and Q&A Moderation●     2:15 – 2:30: Q&A Panel and Thank you note and closure \n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n Speaker Bio:\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Moderator – Mohammad (Mo) Shakouri \n NIST Group Smart Agriculture and Rural Broadband\n shakouri@alumni.stanford.edu \n \n \n \n Dr. Mohammad “Mo” Shakouri is a Silicon Valley investor\, entrepreneur\, and international executive with over 25 years of experience in communications and electronics industry. SUMMARY:6G - Spectrum for 95 GHz and Above
DESCRIPTION:There is widespread recognition that mmWave frequencies offer great promise for many wireless applications that will assist in enhancing U.S. infrastructure\, expanding broadband services in rural areas\, bringing new vertical industries to the communications network\, and maintaining U.S. leadership and economic competitiveness. \n\n\n\nMatching this recognition is a significant effort among academic\, industry and government leaders to develop and test new wireless technologies and services\, including efforts by the Federal Communications Commission to embed 5G and beyond deeply in frequencies above 24 GHz. \n\n\n\nDespite this recognition and these efforts\, frequencies above 95 GHz are seriously under-developed in the U.S. because of a lack of an adequate regulatory framework for their use. \n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communications Alliance invites you to listen in as a selected panel of experts explore the regulation and use of the spectrum assigned to 95 GHz and above – which may even lead to 6G. \n\n\n\nInvited Speakers: \n\n\n\nRobert Heath – Moderator – North Carolina State UniversityMichael Marcus – Marcus Spectrum Solutions LLC Josep Jornet – Northeastern UniversityBen Coffin – NIRoger Nichols – KeysightAmitava Ghosh – Nokia\n\n\n\n\n\nPost Event Material\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n6G – Spectrum for 95 GHz and Above\n February 23\, 2021 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm PST\n\n\n\n\n There is widespread recognition that mmWave frequencies offer great promise for many wireless applications that will assist in enhancing U.S. infrastructure\, expanding broadband services in rural areas\, bringing new vertical industries to the communications network\, and maintaining U.S. leadership and economic competitiveness.

SUMMARY:What's Hot\, What's Not
DESCRIPTION:Does it make sense to invest in the Industrial IoT market segment? \n\n\n\n\n\nWCA 21st Annual What’s Hot\, What’s Not VC & M&A Panel. \n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communications Alliance invites you to get together with Silicon Valley VC’s and M&A professionals why they are placing their bets in the market segment of Industrial IoT – or not. \n\n\n\nIn 2017 the forecast predicted that IoT spending will grow at double-digit numbers until at least 2020.  \n\n\n\nBy 2021\, more than 50% of spending on IoT projects will be for software and services. \n\n\n\nYet\, specific industries\, and within these industries\, specific IoT use cases\, clearly stick out. It probably won’t come as a surprise that the Industrial IoT (IIoT) leads the way. \n\n\n\nManufacturing operations\, freight monitoring\, smart grid\, smart home\, telematics (insurance)\, remote health monitoring and digital signage and other IoT retail use cases are among the IoT use cases where spending remains high or increases in the next years. \n\n\n\nAt our 21st annual CenterStage VC Panel\, our investor panelists will enlighten us with innovative start-ups that fuel such industry’s growth\, where their investments are going and not going\, and what paradigm shifting trends and business opportunities they are projecting for 2021 and beyond. \n\n\n\nSpeakers: \n\n\n\nLisa Oshima (Founder and Managing Consultant\, Socialize Mobilize – Moderator) Tricia Salinero\, (Managing Director – Woodside Capital Partners)Richard Curtin (Managing Partner – Silicon Catalyst)Jack Juedj (Band of Angels)\n\n\n\nEntertainment provided by: \n\n\n\nThe Midnight Ramblerz \n\n\n\n\n\nPost Event Material\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s Hot\, What’s Not\n \nNovember 18\, 2020 @ 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm PST\n\n\n\n\n\n The Wireless Communications Alliance invites you to get together with Silicon Valley VC’s and M&A professionals why they are placing their bets in the market segment of Industrial IoT – or not.
