SUMMARY:6G - Spectrum for 95 GHz and Above
DESCRIPTION:There is widespread recognition that mmWave frequencies offer great promise for many wireless applications that will assist in enhancing U.S. infrastructure\, expanding broadband services in rural areas\, bringing new vertical industries to the communications network\, and maintaining U.S. leadership and economic competitiveness. \n\n\n\nMatching this recognition is a significant effort among academic\, industry and government leaders to develop and test new wireless technologies and services\, including efforts by the Federal Communications Commission to embed 5G and beyond deeply in frequencies above 24 GHz. \n\n\n\nDespite this recognition and these efforts\, frequencies above 95 GHz are seriously under-developed in the U.S. because of a lack of an adequate regulatory framework for their use. \n\n\n\nThe Wireless Communications Alliance invites you to listen in as a selected panel of experts explore the regulation and use of the spectrum assigned to 95 GHz and above – which may even lead to 6G. \n\n\n\nInvited Speakers: \n\n\n\nRobert Heath – Moderator – North Carolina State UniversityMichael Marcus – Marcus Spectrum Solutions LLC Josep Jornet – Northeastern UniversityBen Coffin – NIRoger Nichols – KeysightAmitava Ghosh – Nokia\n\n\n\n\n\nPost Event Material\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n6G – Spectrum for 95 GHz and Above\n February 23\, 2021 @ 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm PST\n\n\n\n\n There is widespread recognition that mmWave frequencies offer great promise for many wireless applications that will assist in enhancing U.S. infrastructure\, expanding broadband services in rural areas\, bringing new vertical industries to the communications network\, and maintaining U.S. leadership and economic competitiveness.

SUMMARY:GETTING AROUND SMART CITIES
DESCRIPTION:By 2030\, the world is projected to have 43 megacities with more than 10 million inhabitants. In general\, global populations are urbanizing\, but congestion and pollution have shown us that 20th Century solutions for moving people and goods around cities simply won’t work anymore. Historically\, as cities grew\, the solution to mobility was seen as more cars and more roads. But we know now that this strategy eventually hits a literal bottleneck as cities grow\, and countless hours are wasted in traffic. \n\n\n\nThe 21st Century city needs 21st Century mobility solutions\, and we now have the opportunity to invent them\, since the modern Smart City offers a wealth of data\, systems\, AI\, and connectivity which have never been available before. We are on the verge of a new era\, where innovators will take the capabilities of the Smart City\, and leverage them to improve mobility by: \n\n\n\nintegrating transport\, mobility\, and logistic systemsfacilitating multi-modal fast commutesreducing CO2 emissions and pollutantsempowering e-business and e-commerceintegrating with Software-Defined cellular networksmanaging the use resources: energy\, real estate\, and otherminimizing energy consumption and control pollution.\n\n\n\nJoin Autotech Council members for a morning of debate and discovery\, product demos\, startup pitches\, and great networking as we get a sense of the innovations and opportunities that will advance the world’s Smart Cities.

SUMMARY:Spectrum Overview: 2020 and beyond...
DESCRIPTION:2019 showed us a number of spectrum allocations and changes to licensing protocols in anticipation of 5G technologies. 5G allocations continue to move forward\, but the basic tenets from last year remain in place. What’s new are advances in unlicensed technologies which also require spectrum to provide real value for new applications and economic growth.  \nRegister Now \nThe Wireless Communications Alliance (WCA) will present an overview of the radio and regulatory side of unlicensed wireless technologies.  We will focus on the spectral allocations that provide the additional pipe necessary for enormous bandwidth. We will hear from specialists abo \n  \nut how these technologies fit into the modern world\, what gaps exist in the ecosystem\, and what spectrum is leverable? \nSpeakers:\n\nKen Pyle\, Viodi View – Moderator\nAndrew Clegg\, Google – CBRS has Launched!\nChip Yorkgitis\, Kelley\, Drye and Warren – FCC – State of Unlicensed\nChuck Lukaszewski\, HP Aruba – new 6 GHz Allocations\nMark Jen\, Common Networks – 60 GHz – What this means for the future.\nRichard Bernhardt\, WISPA – State of U-NII – 2.4\, 5.8\n\n\nCome join us for insights\, thoughtful discussion\, and refreshments.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKen Pyle\nViovi View\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nModerator\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKen Pyle is Managing Editor of the Viodi View and Producer of ViodiTV. SUMMARY:NRF 2020 Vision
DESCRIPTION:In retail\, vision isn’t something you have\, it’s something you do. A course of action. A plan of attack. A way of working that not only predicts the future\, but creates it – one day at a time. That kind of vision isn’t easy to find\, but this year of all years it’s worth taking a closer look. NRF 2020: Retail’s Big Show. It’s the one place where we all come together to see beyond what is\, to reveal what could be. Plotting a vision for where we’re going by learning from where we’ve been. It’s where visionary talent meets visionary tech. Where big box retailers share out of the box ideas\, and the latest and greatest becomes the here and now.
